Employment Support Specialist / Job Coach 

Location: Duluth, MN

Position Overview 

The Employment Support Specialist provides individualized support to clients in community-based employment and volunteer settings. This role plays a critical part in promoting client independence, reinforcing job skills, and maintaining professional collaboration with employers and support teams. 

This position requires reliability, professionalism, strong communication skills, and the ability to model appropriate workplace behavior at all times. Team members are expected to maintain professional boundaries, uphold confidentiality standards, and adhere to agency policies and documentation requirements. 

Key Responsibilities 

● Provide on-site employment support and coaching 

● Assist clients with job searches, applications, and interview preparation 

● Deliver structured skill development and job task training 

● Support clients in maintaining professional workplace expectations 

● Communicate effectively with employers, case managers, and team members

● Provide transportation to and from work or volunteer sites when required 

● Maintain accurate and timely documentation 

Training & Professional Development 

All new hires complete structured onboarding and paid training. Ongoing development includes: 

● Person-centered service training 

● Employment support best practices 

● Documentation and compliance standards 

● Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality 

● Ongoing supervision and performance feedback

Minimum Qualifications 

● Must be at least 18 years of age 

● Valid driver’s license 

● Reliable personal vehicle 

● Proof of current vehicle insurance 

● Authorized to work in the United States 

● Ability to pass a Minnesota DHS background study
